The Future of Flexible Paper Packaging
"The Weiss Group establishes web offset
in flexible paper packaging"
The Weiss Group's vision is to introduce and establish weboffset printing in the field of flexible paper packaging. Weiss-Druck's decades of experience in weboffset printing and Weiss-Packaging's knowledge of packaging and food-compliant production are the perfect basis for successful implementation.
Innovation & conviction
The Weiss Group is constantly trying to open up new business areas. The focus is always on the core businesses. Media, publishing, printing, paper, packaging and production.
After the successful foundation of Weiss-Packaging, it was a logical conclusion to delve deeper into the subject of packaging.
In times of climate change and environmental pollution, producers and brand owners must take responsibility.
Sustainability, ecology and resources are the key words here.
With its vision of establishing web offset in the field of flexible paper packaging, the Weiss Group wants to take responsibility and make it easier for brand owners to switch from plastic to paper.
Currently, around 95% of all flexible packaging is produced using gravure or flexographic printing. For cost reasons, plastic is predominantly used as packaging material.
The use of weboffset can reduce manufacturing costs compared to conventional printing processes. This makes the use of paper as packaging material more interesting again. In addition, the printing forms are recyclable, the inks are solvent-free and the packaging material is renewable, biodegradable and also recyclable.
